chelsea v. arsenal, and not one pub in my 'hood is showing the game. i can't wait to move. its amazing how i live in the city of football, a mere 6 stops away from the 'bridge, and i see less chelsea football than when i lived in calgary. i'm astounded.
at least i can always watch rugby. good on wales for beating australia.
i'm also beginning to sense resentment from my neighbors. i'm caughing quite loudly, and i think they're mad at me, but really, what can i do? i'm taking some random cough syrup but aside from that, there's not much more i can do, so f*ck off.
ok - my day today was great until 4 pm (the beginning of the footie game), as i woke up feeling pretty good (well, better than yesterday!) so i took a shower, did my new hair (always tough on the first day post haircut) and went to the natural history museum - http://www.nhm.ac.uk/. i was there for about 2 hours and only got the mammals done, and by then, i was tired and hungry so i thought i'd save the rest for another day. besides, the parents were starting to get hyper annoying...jockeying their 2 year olds to see the dinosaurs, moving at a rapid pace and if you stopped to (heaven forbid) read something, people glared at you. again...f*ck off.
my favorite part though was overhearing some parents tell their children complete untruths about dinosaurs. i'm sure they were trying to impress their children with their knowledge more than likely gleaned from Jurassic Park or dora the explora, and some of that stuff was complete garbage, especially since i had just taken the fifteen seconds to read about said specimen. an example - i was reading and looking at a fossilized dino brain, cant' quite remember which one it was...and it was explaining how it was a rare find to find this intact brain. and one kid goes 'mummy, what is that?' and the mom, not event stopping to look, say's 'oh honey, its the dinosaur's stomach. wtf???? just because it was round-ish, she just randomly picked some organ that was round-ish and now that kid has no idea how badly she's been taught and on and on it goes.
so i made it to a neighborhood pub (i was scoping which one to watch the game at - so naive) and decided to have a diet lemonade (i love their lemonde) and a shepherd's pie. i just couldn't go back home yet, you know? i read the rest of my book there too, so tonight, i have nothing to do, no game to watch, hence my rant.
i suppose i could pick out my outfit for tomorrow.
ah, tomorrow. i get the keys to my new flat tomorrow. can't wait!
at least i get to watch return of the jedi...well, listen to it anyway. tv here bites. ha ha
