my first dinner party

i finally had my first dinner party and i have to say, it was a ton of fun and a bunch of success...except for the time where i didn't hear mark and kate come to the door, and then rich and anita....and they had to call to see if the party was still on. doh!

i need a louder door bell.

but what a great night! there was much food, much drinking and a lot of laughs.

the menu included baked brie with pecans and maple syrup with bread, dipping olive oil and balsamic vinegar (the italian market was in wimbledon), and roasted nuts. we then followed up that up with citrus bean salad, lemon minty rice and a grilled rib eye that had been marinating in JD BBQ sauce with montreal steak spice (lightly spiced because not too many like the heat here).



and we wrapped it up with my almond citrus olive oil cake. too much wine was consumed but what the heck. you only live once.
