weekend of fun

during cakes and conversation on friday my friend mark asked me what i was up to this weekend and i said, to bim's on friday night for nigerian dinner, saturday is watching my flatmate and our friend jo compete in a triathlon at eton followed by a picnic and then hopefully a day in marylebone on sunday and he said....wow, you're always busy.

i said...that's why i moved here. :)


so on friday after work, me, bim, aleksandra and juli went to bim's for some lovely nigerian food. we had corn on the cob (yum), jollof rice, nigerian fried rice, fried plantain, and savory bean cake. mmmmmmmm. it was yummy. and i loved her cute little flat. her flatmate is a children's clothing designer and you can tell...her flat is full of little girly details, like adding coloured crystals.



saturday was a ton of fun too as dee, jo, abi, john, hannah and i made our way to the eton college rowing centre. dee and jo had opted to partake in a women's triathlon. so for four glorious hours i baked in the sun and cheered on jo and dee. i'm only allowed to post pics from dee's race...jo won't let me post pics of her. ha ha


the college is quite lovely...but not very prepared for a big group. hopefully they get it together in time for the 2012 olympics as this is the venue for rowing...


that night we head back to our place for another picnic full of antipasti and mucho pane. mmmmmm. i introduced the group to sweetheart martinis which were a success which lead to me, dee and jonathan (the non drivers) to drink two pitchers full. needless to say, sunday ended up being a hangover day. my plans to walk around marylebone and look at the windsor collection, i ended up going to kingston and market shopping, although the market was closed so i ended up at waitrose.


but tonight, i'm having a glass of wine with my friend gina via skype. can't wait! i miss that gal!
