happy anniversary to me

what a difference a year makes...

so this time last year, i believe i had made it to the phone booth in bayswater to call my mom to let her know i had made it to london ok. i was living in the crappiest flat you can ever imagine and things were bleak i tell you...bleak. if you want to take a trip down memory lane...read this.

so i guess you can say things did pick up...so i thought this post might hilight some of my favourite things that have happened in the past 12 months (in no particular order as they are all fantastic).

1. Meeting Dee - Oh thank God I met Dee! Bestest flatmate ever (aside from you of course Gina). I knew we'd get on well when we met, but it was the night at Aurora where she played air guitar on her leg, I knew she was a gem. From cookery courses in Bath, a day trip to Brighton, snow patrol, plays, restaurants, moving to posh london, come dine with me, and much more, she's been an amazing person to know and (hopefully) continue to know. I'll be sad to lose her as a flatmate, but excited to visit her in Ireland when she moves back.

2. Mini Breaks: Sicily, Aberdeen, Edinburgh, Brighton, Spain - need I say more?

3. Seeing James Macavoy on stage - twice. I love him.

4. Going to Greece - the perfect recharge with my perfect travelling partners. These three know me perhaps the best and are the most amazing support team you could ever ask for.

5. Jodee's wedding - what is more special than being the maid of honour at your closest childhood and let's face it, adulthood friend! I love you Jod. You're the other sister indeed.

6. Chelsea Chelsea Chelsea - I love watching the boys in blue and I love that every game I go to, they win. Cole, Lampard, Terry and Drogba. Sweet.

7. A weekend in Devon - What beautiful country! Definitely an area of the country I could call home (and Bath - love Bath). As much as I love the city, there's something to be said of a mildly slower (and breathtaking) pace. And I love cream tea, even though it could kill me.

#8. Day Trips: Windsor and Bath with Brandy, Brighton - As mentioned before...I love Bath. I've been there twice now, as with Windsor. Brighton was the first lick of open space I had seen since moving here. There is something to be said about seeing wide open space (even in your peripheral vision).

9. Family Visits - Love the family visits! From Is and Dave, Gina and Tony. It's always nice to see family...know what I'm saying?

10. My circle of friends! - I'm so glad I sucked it up and went to Kate's Christmas party last year as that's where I made a lot of friends! What would I do without them? Have no life at all! From salsa lessons, to robbie burns night, many nights at the marquis of granby (and now the stonehorse) my life has been made rich because of them. I love them dearly.

And there you have it! A year in review! Thanks to everyone who has been so supportive...and according to Bim, it's official. I'm no longer a tourist but a proper Londoner. Wow.
