hitting the ground, running

i always knew that life after the tranquil vacation in rome and the south of france would mean a hectic 7 week drive to the bitter end. what better way to start than the champions league game between chelsea and marseille. naturally chelsea kicked their arse and life was as it should be. :) i went to the game with my friend laura and her friend mike. we had a lot of fun and thoroughly enjoyed the game. i wore my cookie monster hat that isabell and the kids bought me for my birthday (early gift of course). and while i went down to the pitch at the beginning of the game to get some pics, stamford the mascot saw me and came over and gave me a noogie. funny!

anyway, got some great pics like this one of alex and john terry. JT screwed up but he's still my captain. silly girl that i am.

the next night gave me to respite but that was ok by me. chris, andy, louise and i went to the london philharmoic's performance of return of the king. again, howard shore was there (and for a while we were so certain that annie lennox would make an appearance to sing into the west, but alas and alack...nothing. that being said, during the credits i noticed that there were a whole heck of a lot of accountants, accounting assistance and payroll staff. and that the london philharmonic was actually the symphony that recorded the sessions for the movie along with howard shore. no wonder the music was seamless and perfect...and why howard shore is there at the end of each performance to take his own bow. cool.

thursday i met up with hannah and caroline for 'one drink' which of course turned into a bottle and then noodles at wagamama. benugo is where the celebs hang out, which is funny because i didn't recognize a soul but that's ok since i'm not up on local celebs anyway. but our server at wagamama was a cutie, even though he was covered in piercings and tatoos. although those ear hole thingies that are popular makes me want to encourage madison and jonah to specialize in plastic surgery to repair those ugly loops when these people get old and skin starts to sag. :)

friday was a double pronged day. denise was leaving the company to return to school and get her doctorate. i can't remember what it was going to be in...social something or other, but we ended up at the railway where we karaoked and before i had to leave, got to sing 'all the things that i've done' to denise and my legions of fans. haha...

i got soul but i'm not a soldier

right after i head over to barbican at indulgence where bim and mr. bim were having a pre wedding party for those of us unlucky enough to fly to barbados to attend the nuptuals next weekend. oh my darling bim. she's all growed up. next time (hopefully) i see her, she'll be a married woman. sigh. amazing how things can change so quickly!

Mr. Bim (Tim) and Bim

saturday was our come dine with me (the brunch edition) at jo's house where i not only had a fabulous meal, but she too had special guests. namely her sister avril and her parents! the food was incredible and shockingly enough, we didn't get to the last course...and in fact, i didn't even eat for the rest of the day! we had yogurt with berries and honey to start (with tea and coffee of course), followed by a full breakfast of bacon and sausage rolls, roasted potatoes, tomatoes and mushrooms, home made scones with cornish cream and jam...so now you can see why we didn't finish with our banana smoothie. seriously, i needed a nap right after.

my new bag!
that night we had an immense downpour so i ended up staying at home...or was it lucky because the next day ania and i cancelled our trip to cambridge. we just couldn't be bothered to walk in the rain all day. so instead, we went shopping which ended up being more detrimental to my pocketbook. i finally caved and bought the burberry bag i've had my eye on. in fact, i had been pricing it out and discovered it was the cheapest in london. amazing! so...crazy week indeed but the days just keep gaining momentum. yet another leaving do, another play, and canadian thanksgiving!

oh, and i finally took pics of the crazy cats too...the ones i live with. ha ha
