wow, great birthday, but wow, did we ever pack it in. firstly thanks to my friend kate for making me a cow cake. its so fricking cute!
we have this thing at work where when its someone's birthday, we have a cake for them. we try to be all cloak and dagger about it...we coyly purchase or bake a cake. we plan to meet in the kitchen at 3. someone (usually me) is responsible for getting said person in the kitchen at 3:05...and there's surprise every time.
either they just don't catch on here, or i'm that good at convincing people to meet me in the kitchen for coffee on their birthday at 3 pm.
so, when aleksandra said 'kitchen?', i smiled, said ok, then peeked in. i'm sitting adjacent to the kitchen and can see it, and i see a mass of people in there. so i walk in and they're pretending to play foosball, get coffee, blah blah blah and i'm like 'hey everyone, what are you all doing in here???' hahaha - there was bad acting all around.
but here's the cake - its amazing
its also in celebration of our argentinian meat fest at el gauchos later that night. located in the heart of the chelsea market, seven of us sat down and ate 'huge hunks of cow'. we all had sirloin (we had some vouchers - bless the UK and their vouchers) and one rib eye (i sacrificed since i knew i have some killer rib eye waiting for my bbq upon my return), red wine, chips and then dessert. yes people, we had dessert even though we had hunks of cake cow only 4 hours earlier.
so this is my meat
this is my flan with dulce de leche (you should hear how an aussie says this).
and tomorrow is my last day with a computer in london. so i'll probably not blog until my return, and even then it might take me a bit to get the courage to do it. i'm not sure what to do about this blog...my life in london is rapidly coming to an end, and who wants to read about the life in calgary?
i'll keep you posted and let you know what i decide.
until then, i move into the churchill tonight, have my leaving do (i'm sure i'll have pics to post), i get to see harry potter, and then on saturday, the long journey home.
i have a feeling i'll be comatose on the flight.
xoxo
