hanging with the breast fest

so many years ago, i was part of this group of gals who met up once per month to eat, drink and be merry...oh, and walk away with some cash. the idea was that each month, we'd put $20 in a kitty and one of us would walk away with $240. as there was 12 of us, one person would win the kitty per year. it was fun and no, it wasn't a pyramid scheme.

anyhoo, from that meeting i was fortunate to make some new friends, of which is my friend suzie. i hadn't spoken to suz in a while so the night i moved from calgary to london, it was like a gift from the heavens that i ran into her. i was extremely sad having just said goodbye to the family, so it was nice to see a familiar face that saw me off to england. so naturally, when she told me she was coming to calgary and had one night she could hang with me, i took her up on the opportunity.

we met up at westfield, london's 'west edmonton mall'. it's about half the size of west ed, but at least there are no repeats when it comes to the shops. she had done some damage at Next, so by the time i got there, we went for dinner at wagamama. if you love noodles, you should go there at least once. its like fast food noodles, but still good none-the-less.

afterward, we pretended we could be anywhere but london when we got our coffee at starbucks...and here's a tip for those of you who need to combat a bout of home sickness. grab a fellow compatriot and head to the nearest starbucks. they are so generic that you could literally be anywhere in your home town having a tall earl grey tea misto one shot sugar free vanilla, lactose milk. sigh. it works every time.

anyhoo, it was great to catch up and have a normal night at home. thanks for coming out to play suz!
