how lucky was i to be able to see the england and slovakia!

85,000 people squeezed into wembley (and there were some empty seats too, let me tell you) to watch england absolutely destroy slovakia. the game was 4-0, and it was only through unforced errors that kept the game at only 4 goals.

the international games are much more civilized, even though each country's supporters are mixed throughout the stadium. to my right i had four slovakian supporters in a sea of england supporters, but i think they were just happy to be there. they seemed to have fun even though their team lost.

one other thing i was thankful for were the covered seats. as in true england fashion, the rain came pouring down during the national anthems. those poor players (and by poor...its clearly an exaggeration) but who wants to be poured on by the cold rain? that being said, the england kits for 2009 were revealed at tonights game, so as they stood in the rain during the slovkian anthem they were wearing white track suites. and just before god save the queen, the tore their suits off to reveal an all white kit. holy crap. is the designer insane?

naturall, it only took one slide for them to be covered in filth. but at the same time, the england squad looked more like cricketters than footballers.

and i saw david beckham play. i can scratch that one of the 'list'.
