swinging good time

i had such a great time last night. seven of us made our way to the Swan in the basement of Shakespeare's Globe Theatre for the Fitzrovia Radio Hour. For two hours, we sat and watched (but at times just closed our eyes and listened) to four radio plays - The Spiv Who Bought the Farm, It Came from the Black Abyss, The Champion and The Blind Policeman.

balloon popping for gun shots, jello and melons for puppy deliveries (so funny), lettuce for a crackyn busting up a ship...so much fun. you could tell who were the 'regulars' as they were all dressed up and ready to go as well. afterward, we were entertained with swing music and we tried our best at swing dancing.

i got to jive. it's been a long time.

so, if you ever come to london and want something to do that doesn't involve the london eye, a tour bus, or pushing your way through covent garden or leicester square. make your way to the southbank and check to see if fitzrovia is at the globe that night. doors open at 7:30, show starts at eight - tix (£8) can only be purchased at the door. but eat before you go...the £10 buffet is terrible and there's not enough for everyone that shows.
