wow, so i go to the crowsnest pass and enter the no-broadband zone. i felt so out of touch...but not really, everyone i wanted to talk to was with me.
the time home has been very good for me...any kind of grey areas have somewhat disappeared. i jumped right back into my old life and it feels like my year in london just never happened. its like i live a double life. i'll run into people who will say 'hey, haven't seen you in a while. how's it going?' and i couldn't bother to explain...so i just say 'ya, i'm doing great and you?'. i mean, what more can i say?
another weird thing i've noticed is that i've grown so much as a person...leaps and bounds i'd say. but here, everything remains the same. so its my old life, but i'm a different person. its not that i don't fit, but i do see things much differently.
but wow, the time's i've had this past week. i've spent a lot of time with close friends and family, sledding, fire pits, spider dogs, bubble bobble, hot cocoa with bailey's, etc. there's harry potter in the home theatre, wii on the big screen, learning how to make proper scalille. sigh.
on a sad note, one of my aunt's health is failing drastically, and with great difficulty i had to say goodbye to her knowing that i would probably never see her again. i was completely gutted. i've known her my whole life and in a way, was my second mom. so many memories of me hanging out with my mom when i was a kid include my auntie teresa. she'd be over helping mom bake, we'd go for after dinner walks to her house, she'd call me matalena and i always loved how she'd ask how 'you people' are doing. i'm going to miss her.
