i am woman, hear me roar

oh the birthdays just keep on coming...and this time it was kitty kat's bday (more on that later!)

coming home from the gallery on thursday night the evening was so calm and warm, and little did i know a heat wave was upon us!

friday was a great day...well it didn't start off the best but it ended splendidly. i was in bracknell on course at our head office and wow, i was stuck in the room with one of the biggest daftest cows in history. i tell you, she annoyed the hell out of me. she was one of those people busy looking at her email, or at her text, and even playing fricking solitaire so that when it came to actually doing the exercises on our computer, she would say to our instructor, 'mine's not working'. i was so tempted to smack her but you know, that could get me fired. amazing how the rest of us, who were paying attention, never seemed to have any problems. and at first, our instructor was patient, but i tell you, by the end, she was lucky we were on the ground floor because if our instructor wasn't going to throw her out, i was.

i should have taken it as a sign that when she couldn't log into the laptop (ya....honestly!) that we were in for a long day.

that being said, i was in bracknell on a friday (normally i'm there mid week) so i got to go out for beers with my colleagues in that office and did we ever have a great time. and because the temperature was gorgeous, we were on a patio. oh i felt so content.

saturday was yet another stellar day. i had originally planned to shop high street kensington as they have a great tk maxx, but the temp was so warm, i decided to head over to whole foods then find a spot in hyde park and eat lunch and read my vanity fair. my world cup vanity fair. it was a lovely afternoon of coconut water, salad rolls, watermelon and football players in designer underwear photographed by annie l.

as it was a beauty day, i walked home from hyde park and it was just littered with about a million people. it was amazing. i have never seen so many people in that park before. amazing, i tell you.

later that night i met up with kate, aleksandra and ania to go to guanabara for some brazillian tunes. we had the food there (all fried but yummy just the same) and major cocktails then danced some samba. after about an hour of the same beat, we got bored and head home. ha ha. are we getting old or what?

today was kate's birthday so, as it was again in the mid to high 20s. after doing some market shopping (which always makes me smile), i walked from my place to konditor and cook. i've blogged about this bakery before...stunning baked goods. i picked up kate's bday cake and head to clapham junction where we had a 4 hour meal at fish and a tie. not the most glamourous looking food but tastie none the less. i had choux de crab (a cream puff stuffed with crab and covered in hollandaise) followed by trout stuffed with garlic king prawns. very yummy!

since it was still scorching at 6 pm we grabbed some wine and made our way to wandsworth common for the last but of sunshine and some evening drinks. i'm finally home, all sunned,a nd about to watch an audience with michael buble. sing it bubbles, sing it!

i'm amazed its on because just yesterday i thought...bubbles is best heard live. and here we go, a london concert on the tube...or tv. ;)

xoxo...looking forward to tomorrow. working from home so i can have lunch with larissa and meet her babe avery, then dinner with a friend from calgary who is vacationing in london this week. love it!
