the boat that rocked

at work we have an amazing social committee, where they can turn a very small amount of money into one great social event for the staff at the office. this month, we had 'the boat that rocked'...a 4 hour ride along the thames with a bar, buffet food, a DJ and dance floor, and amazing views of the city along the river.

we all met at prohibition bar and grill at st. katherine's docks for a quick drink before walking down to tower bridge and boarding the Mercedes. our lovely little boat...and since it was raining, we all scurried onto the lower floor to grab a seat and a few drinks as well. it didn't take long for 100 people to warm that place up so outside i went, and found my poor friend royston. prone to sea sickness, he thought it best to be outside and hanging over the railing...just in case. hoho, experiencing the same feelings, joined us outside where i taught them the trick of staring off into the horizon...a steady point to calm the head a bit. and needless to say, putting a few beers into those two and soon we owned that upper deck.

we were the popular kids :)

now i've done thames cruises before but normally i get off at greenwich where i play with the eastern and western hemispheres, but we went so much further and i saw parts of london i've never seen before...mind you , from the river so not sure how much i'd say i really saw. we went past the thames barrier park, woolwich ferry, and for a while there, i thought we were going to make a break for it. as hoho said...i swear to god, we're almost at europe.

so as we rounded about to turn back and head to festival pier at waterloo, we went inside to bust a few moves and warm up a bit, but by the time we got back to tower bridge, i was back outside to get some fab night shots and boy...did i ever get some good ones.

when we docked at the pier i said bye to my friends. they were all heading to las iguanas but i went back to marylebone...my last night in my lovely flat before moving to clapham south. sigh...the beginning of the end of my life in london.
