spring is officially here, and i'm loving every minute of it. the weather has been so lovely!
so gina was here this weekend, therefore its been a busy one! while she shopped all day in selfridges on friday, i went to work (boo) but we met up later for some pints with some of my friends from work and my flatmate dee at my favorite wimbledon pub the dog & fox. the only downer about this pub is they only serve half pints of leffe to women. WTF! and the guys did think it was a touch hoity toity since the men's loos had hand soap with 'de la mer' in the title, AND hand lotion. at the end, gina, dee and i stumbled down the hill and stopped at wagamama for some noodles then complained the whole walk home about how sore our feet were. needless to say, we got home and passed out.
the next day, gina and i head to leicester square and to burberry for their annual sample sale. holy dinah...talk about line ups. we were lined up to get in for about 45 mintues, then when we got in there, it was a free for all and another hour line up to pay and get out. but i scored. i spent £225 on what would have cost £900, and don't worry, the Chav has been minimized. you can barely tell its burberry, but i did buy a trench. they make the best ones.
after that we head to melati - a restaurant gina found about 8 years ago, then subsequently lost until we stumbled upon it back in November. she's been talking about their Gado Gado for years, so we finally ate it and now, her drive to find the restaurant/eat the gado gado is complete - she can check that off her list of things to do before she dies.
speaking of the list - i got my tickets to the world cup qualifiers at wembley yesterday too. i finally get to see beckham play (i think).
anyhoo, we had some time to kill before our play started so we head to the st. james pub to watch the rugby (i say the rugby like the pot - it needs the the). the six nations concluded yesterday and ireland won the cup after over 30 years of trying. yay ireland! it took us a while to find a pub with atmosphere and seats...of course we had to pass through all the sex clubs to find the one we wanted....which ended up being one block from the play on shaftebury so we walked in a big circle when really, all we had to do was walk 30 feet more. but i digress. during the game, i learned of 'blood subs' and 'blood reversals'...who knew?

and then to the whole point of being...three days of rain. excellent play...i can't say enough of it. it was funny, touching, interesting and the cast was so damned beautiful. the lighting was absolutely fantastic...and the rain...dear lord, we had rain on the stage. and sheets of it, buckets...drenching manhattan and our actors to boot.
and james mcavoy.

holy crap.
ok - i think the guy is one of the best out there, and now my thinking has moved to knowing. although i got distracted every once in a while that james mcavoy was acting 20 feet away from me (i told you, i was spitting distance away). and is he every one hot looking guy. if you can get tickets, i suggest you go.

anyhoo - i am off. i still have some time left with the sister (she's just getting up) and we're not sure what to do. perhaps clapham? perhaps westfields? dunno.
