happy days

It’s been a while and normally I say that I haven’t blogged because I have nothing to say but fact of the matter is right now life is grand, so instead of contemplating and dissecting it, I thought I’d just enjoy it. I’m not going to question this upturn in the wheel of fortune and I shouldn’t look for a sign of the downturn because if anything, it just means it’ll get here faster.

It was a bizarre feeling, coming back from my training. Its not that the course was mind blowing and gave me incredible life skills to go forth and conquer. It wasn’t a retreat where I could be at one with ‘nature’ or where I was struck with the dawn of enlightenment…it wasn’t anything special…yet it feels like somehow, a switched was flicked on while I was away. Like there was a decision made to just be happy and grateful for everything coming my way so therefore, things just keep on coming.

My partner in crime at work and I are completely in harmony, and I’m so proud of how she has developed since earlier this year. She’s really come into her own and I think if anything, there’s a foundation of trust that I know I can rely on. Although you all know me for my honesty, I think it was my blunt attitude with my surrounding team and my complete faith in trusting them with important information that suddenly, people who didn’t give me the time of day are suddenly coming by my office when they’re in London just to say hi and have a nice weekend.

It’s almost like a twilight zone episode...or more like I was given a vat of Felix Felicis to pave the way with luck.

I should buy a lottery ticket.

OK, enough of that! So last Friday night, Aleksandra and I decided to go to the pub for a pint and we met up with some of our new-to-us co-workers who recently moved into the same new office and there we meet our new friend Roy. Such was the instant camaraderie that he, along with Chris and Aleksandra, were invited along to my house for dinner (brad, I made a variation of your Mediterranean chicken…more feta and less sundried tomatoes, but I digress). It’s always nice to expand the friend network in London!

I got to chat online with Madison and Jonah, which is always good for the soul. I saw Mad’s fab new hair – I can’t believe how beautiful she is sometimes. She looks just like her auntie :). Then there’s my love-a-love Jonah…two guitar lessons in and he’s playing me stuff online. Bless….I love that little guy so much.

And….just for you P3…I’m going to Snow Patrol AGAIN! Ha ha. This time at the royal albert concert hall so it’s bound to sound incredible. Can’t wait. I’m lining up a few other things in the coming months, like seeing mamma mia (finally hey martin?), doing a little karaoke, heading to Madrid for an October weekend, and hopefully an overnighter somewhere in Brussels or maybe I’ll go to Vienna to go to a Christmas market. Yay.

But until then, I’ll have to settle for a girls night out on Friday. Look out boys, there are 10 crazy gals hitting the dance floor.
