We ended our trip with 2 frenzied shopping and touring days in London. We took the boys to oxford street where the three of them (I held back) shopped like mad men and women but they’re all set for ‘back to school’ in their smart new clothes and shoes. Gina picked up the Tynchy Stryder CD so I’m going to have to check it out. we also did my fave walk to take visitor’s on (mind you it was a touch longer than normal because we started in Marylebone – I had to pick up my keys to my new flat you see).
We started at baker street, walked down the Marylebone high street down to oxford, across to regent street to picadilly, Leicester square, covent garden, then to Trafalgar square, down Whitehall to see Scotland yard and No. 10 Downing Street to the Abbey, the parliament buildings, big ben, we took a river cruise, then to the London eye to waterloo station.
Whew. We ended up back in covent garden for one of the most delicious Indian feasts I have ever had at Moti Mahal. So freaking yummy! The curries were so flavourful, and I had to be rolled out of there. Although, they had my kriek beer there too (I know, not very Indian) but man it tasted so good.
The day the boys left was full of mixed feelings. I got a bit weepy (as I always do) and was so sad to see them go. At the same time, I was moving to my new flat that day so I had a lot of things to look forward to as well. But I can’t believe that Greece is now in my past. We’re already planning our get together when I go home for Christmas.
The move went smoothly and Dee’s brother David came to help (hung over too – what a trooper). We spent the night having dinner at Real Greek in Marylebone then went to our local pub for a bottle of wine (me, dee, gina and caroline). Then we had a little sleepover but alas, it is one full day in the flat and I’m on my own. Dee is off to Dublin and then Cornwall for a much needed holiday, Gina is visiting nonna in san Giovanni in fiore, and caroline is back in kent. So I am on my own in the new flat for a week. Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeek. At least I can take my time unpacking!
Now, I have one final week in Epsom and then we move offices to London City. So excited…yet so tired thinking about it!
Xoxo
