it seems the blog has turned into a weekly thing...
for those who have requested, even though life here has become day to day, you miss me blogging about what i'm doing in london and new things i have discovered...so here i go.
on tuesday, i was blessed with a visit from my friend Jo, who i don't see all that often but when we go out, we have a great time. she happened to be in our neck of the woods so i left work as soon as i could and met her at carluccio's where we thought...let's just have a glass of prosecco...to another...to a few appetizers. although here's the brilliant part...i left my mobile phone on the table...in the middle of st. christopher's place....and someone actually turned it into the restaurant's lost and found. can you believe it! oh the lucky stars were shining on me! anyhoo, i do enjoy st. christopher's place. its a 20 minute detour from my home, but when i feel like walking a bit, i take the tube to oxford circus then cut through st. christopher's place and up the high street.
wednesday night was supposed to be movie night (241 with orange network) and we planned to see (500) Days of Summer, but...it was sold out! dear lord...who knew? however i did discover fire and stone pizzaria in covent garden. it was kind of like pannago, as in the toppings were quite unique. i had the cairo pizza - its much recommended. so we weren't sure what to do, but aleksandra had heard from one of our new-to-us colleagues about ronnie scotts...a very cool jazz joint. we met a guy named dennis there who told us stories about what it was like to work at harrods and his life as a dancer. we didn't stay late enough to catch the live jazz but it will be a future destination...and i have a feeling, a future club favourite.
thursday was a rare night home which made going out on friday much fun. we head to the albannach off of trafalgat square and it was ok. the company was much fun therefore so was the bar, but i can't imagine going back there. i had a bit of over indulgence at the club so saturday was much more low key, where aleksandra and i hung out at portobello market. thank god i wasn't at 100% because i easily could have done some damage to my bank account, but i was able to buy my converse all stars. sweet. i got real chatty with the sales guy at office selling my shoes and learned this weekend that i'm an incredible flirt. ha ha. at least i'm good at something.
sunday was another day of poking around the neighbourhood where we found the marylebone farmer's market. literally 2 blocks from my house, every sunday...i found bison rib eyes...now i need a bbq. haha. good luck with that!
not sure what's up this weekend. i was supposed to go for a canadian thanksgiving but my hostess decided to go to canada. perhaps i will have a mini canadian thanksgiving day this weekend on my own...although the last time i had kd...it just about killed me.
